Gas prices fell slightly as last week ended, according to AAA. The national average for regular gasoline dipped 2 cents a gallon to $3.14 a gallon at the end of the week.
AAA notes gas prices declined as demand for gas increased slightly, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
“Typically, lower stock levels alongside higher demand would push pump prices higher,” AAA stated, “however, crude prices have been trending below $70/barrel, helping to push prices lower instead.”
Ohio posted the largest decrease in the past week, with average regular gas prices falling 9 cents a gallon. Kentucky and Michigan prices fell 8 cents a gallon while Washington D.C. and Wisconsin prices dropped 6 cents a gallon.
