General RV Center ranked No. 18 among Crain’s Detroit’s largest family-owned businesses in Michigan. The classification was determined based on 2022 and 2023 revenue in addition to the company’s employee count state and nationwide.

General RV Center originated in 1962 when Abe Baidas opened a trailer rental business in Detroit, Michigan. Sixty-two years later, his family members continue the company’s legacy.

Abe Baidas’ son, Rob Baidas, has worked at the dealership since 1981. He is a third-generation owner and is the company chair.

General RV Center CEO Loren Baidas is a third-generation owner. He worked at General RV as a teenager and now leads the company.

Loren Baidas said the dealership is proud to be among Michigan’s largest family-owned businesses.

He thanked the General RV team, “whose hard work and dedication continue to earn us these accolades. Their efforts are instrumental in ensuring we continue to deliver the premier RV buying experience to customers across the state.”

The dealer chain has now grown to six Michigan locations and 20 locations nationally.
