During the 2024 holiday season, more than 36 million Americans plan to use RVs, according to a Go RVing survey.

With many RVers planning trips during the holiday season, Go RVing’s monthly trend review examined Travel Tuesday’s popularity.

The day, which falls on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, features discounts on travel purchases such as airline flights and hotel stays. This year Travel Tuesday is on Dec. 3.

According to a McKinsey & Co. consulting firm report, online searches for “Travel Tuesday” spiked over 500% between 2021 and 2023. The analysis concluded that the trend is most popular in North America.

The report said, “Travel Tuesday as a marketing concept is gaining traction. A day centered on travel deals seems like a potential fit for a moment when people are yearning to travel more than ever before but are often in search of discounts because of rising living costs.”

Google Trends has corroborated that, after declining during the pandemic, “Travel Tuesday” searches spiked in 2022 and 2023, according to Sunset Magazine.
