In its latest monthly trends report, Go RVing explored some ways technology is making consumers’ travel easier.
Among the technology upgrades affecting travel, Go RVing referenced a Forbes 2023 report saying software improvements help newer vehicles maximize fuel efficiency. The software incorporates real-time weather and traffic data to optimize routes. The software also uses connected devices to foretell maintenance needs.
A 2023 Stylus report said Waymap’s mobile app contains pre-loaded maps and motion sensors, helping the visually impaired navigate public spaces without Wi-Fi. The same report said Phygital memberships are gaining momentum. These memberships mix physical and digital items, with hospitality brands using non fungible tokens (NFTs) to reserve exclusive rooms, receive preferential rates and get access to chauffeur services.
“New technology is aligning with the core values of the RVing experience,” Go RVing said. “Thanks to advancements in sustainable, accessible and customizable travel experiences, people have more freedom to choose the way of traveling that works for them.”
Go RVing said it is strategically driving RV lifestyle inclusion in two ways.
First, by sharing content that demonstrates RV accessibility features. Second by portraying diverse families using technology to plan exciting trips on their terms.
Finally, Go RVing said a recent survey found 87% of American parents think it is important for brands they like to act and communicate in an authentic way. Go RVing said RV industry companies should highlight authentic experiences.
“To strengthen emotional connections with young, diverse families,” Go RVing said, “it is important for brands to showcase the aspirational, yet authentic, experiences of family life beyond skin-deep representation and idealistic scenarios.”
