Go RVing, RVIA Encourage Vacation Planning with Online Resources

A promo for National Plan for Vacation Day

RVIA and Go RVing are encouraging RVers to start planning 2021 days off in conjunction with National Plan for Vacation day on Jan. 26.

The day reminds Americans to plan ahead to avoid unused vacation time. RVIA said at a time when RVing is more popular than ever, the notion is important.

“Remarkably, American workers left an average of 33 percent of their paid time off on the table last year,” Go RVing VP Karen Redfern said. “That does not have to be the case this year, because Go RVing has the resources to help people plan their perfect RV trip.”

To help travelers plan vacations, Go RVing provides online resources to those seeking expert advice, budget tips, trip planning assistance and an ability to locate RV dealerships and campgrounds.

“While one of the best things about RVing is the ability to just pick up and go, there is also a lot to be said for the anticipation of a well-planned trip,” Redfern said. “As more and more people are discovering the joys of RVing, it is a good idea to plan out your RV trips, especially if the trip is over a holiday weekend or to a popular destination.”

RVIA cited a survey conducted by the U.S. Travel Association that includes responses to where Americans are focusing when prioritizing their travel this year – all which are best done in an RV, the association stated. Findings included 69 percent of respondents desiring a scenery change, 61 percent wanting to spend more time with friends or family, 55 percent seeking “bucket list” destinations, 54 percent wanting to explore the U.S. and 52 percent desiring a reconnection with significant others.

There is growth opportunity within the industry this year, RVIA stated. Wholesale RV shipments are projected to continue climbing and many Americans have more paid time off. U.S. Travel Association research found more than 93 percent of respondents think it is important to use their time off to travel.

“As RVs continue to offer the freedom for people to enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle while also controlling their environment, Go RVing will continue to offer the resources to make finding the right RV and planning the best RV trip easier than ever,” RVIA stated.
