GoRVing will join Outdoorsy to present a session at the 2022 South by Southwest (SXSW) event in Texas. The presentation will be Go RVing’s first at the SXSW event.

The session is titled “Why Revenge Travel Is Here to Slay” with Go RVing Vice President of Brand Marketing Karen Redfern joining Outdoorsy CEO Jeff Cavins as presenters.

“SXSW has always been a place to exchange great ideas and we believe the concept of ‘revenge travel’ shows just how determined people are to claim their time outdoors,” Redfern said. “Our conversation will focus on how the boom in outdoor recreation and RVing can be further accelerated as Americans embrace remote working in a sharing society,” said Vice President of Brand Marketing at Go RVing, Karen Redfern.

Canceled travel plans in 2020 planted seeds of pent-up demand dubbed “revenge travel” in 2021. Redfern and Cavins will discuss the outdoor travel sector’s challenges in maintaining the top spot on the podium, the companies said.

“After a year of canceled plans and quarantining, the RV rental space is exploding with travelers looking to explore, but in safe and reliable ways,” Cavins said. “Access to the outdoors is an essential part of our society and we look forward to sharing our insight and industry expertise at SXSW on how more people can tap into the wellness benefits of the great outdoors.”

SXSW features sessions, music and comedy showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, professional development and networking opportunities. Next year’s conference will take place March 11-20.
