The Go RVing March Trends Report dialed in on adventure tourism growth.
In 2021, U.S. adventure tourism sales reached $42.5 billion. A 14.2% compound annual growth rate is anticipated between 2022 and 2030.
Go RVing noted the increased interest in adventure tourism. The coalition concluded that, despite tightening finances, 87% of American Gen Y and Gen Z consumers are willing to spend more on once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Adventure tourists can explore their once-in-a-lifetime trips for less by traveling in an RV, Go RVing and RVIA found. A 2023 independent firm study revealed RV vacations cost less than other vacation travel types. For four-person RV travel parties, the average cost savings totaled up to 60%. A two-person RV travel party’s average cost saving totaled 46%.
The report concluded that amid economic cost increases, RVers remain active in outdoor recreation.
