The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following 2024 RV recalls:
JAYCO, INC.
Inadequate Rear Axle Lubrication
Potential Number of Units Affected: 82
Jayco is recalling certain 2024 Jayco Granite Ridge, Solstice, Entegra Coach Condor, Expanse and Expanse Li motorhomes. An inadequate amount of rear axle lubricant may cause rear axle tail bearing damage and seizure, which can result in wheel lock-up or driveshaft separation.
Dealers will inspect the rear axle and replace the axle bearings or axle assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 12. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is Ford 24V-102.
High Voltage Battery May Cause Fire
Relays that are stuck in the close position increase the fire risk during battery charging.
Potential Number of Units Affected: 1,349
Jayco is recalling certain 2021-2025 Jayco Solstice Li, Swift, Terrain, Terrain LE, Entegra Coach Ethos Li, Expanse Li and Launch LE motorhomes. The battery relay contactors may become stuck in the closed position.
The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 21. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9903603.
Loss of Power Steering Assist
A sudden power steering loss can increase the crash risk.
Potential Number of Units Affected: 286
Jayco is recalling certain 2023-2025 Entegra Coach Anthem and Cornerstone motorhomes. The steering gear may have foreign material inside the gear that could build pressure within the system, resulting in a power steering assist loss.
Dealers will remove and replace the steering gear, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 12. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is Shyft Group 24V-052.
WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES, INC.
Non-ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) Protected Outlet Installed in Lavatory
A lack of proper circuit protection increases the electric shock and injury risks.
Potential Number of Units Affected: 136
Winnebago is recalling certain 2024 Solis motorhomes. The lavatory may have an incorrect standard outlet installed when there should be a GFCI-protected outlet.
Dealers will replace the outlet with a GFCI-protected outlet, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 26. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 641-585-6939 or 800-537-1885. Winnebago’s number for this recall is 182.
Incorrect Tire/ GVWR Information Label/ FMVSS 110
Incorrect tire information could result in tires that do not meet GVWR specifications installation, affecting vehicle control and increasing the crash risk.
Potential Number of Units Affected: 29
Winnebago is recalling certain 2023 Sunstar motorhomes. The tire information label incorrectly states the tire size and GVWR. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”
