The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following 2024 RV recalls:

AIRSTREAM, INC.

Generator May Be Missing a Heat Shield

Flooring material exposed to heat increases the fire and injury risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 8

Airstream is recalling certain 2023-2024 Atlas motorhomes. The generator may have been installed without a heat shield, which can expose the subflooring to excessive heat.

Dealers will install the heat shield above the generator, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 2. Owners may email Airstream customer service at [email protected] or call at 877-596-6505 or 937-596-611 ext. 7401.

DAIMLER VANS USA, LLC

Braking May Require Increased Force

Extended stopping distance can increase the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 184

Daimler Vans USA is recalling certain 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles. Due to a software error in the electronic stability program (ESP), the force required to stop the vehicle may increase, possibly requiring an extended distance to stop.

Dealers will update the ESP control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 1. Owners may contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 877-762-8267. Daimler Van USA’s number for this recall is VS3EBOOSTF.

HEARTLAND RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, LLC

Incorrect Tire Size on Placard/FMVSS 120

Incorrect tire size information can allow incorrect tire installation on the trailer, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 16

Heartland is recalling certain 2024 Eddie Bauer travel trailers. The tire placards indicate an incorrect tire size. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 120, “Wheels and Rims – Other Than Passenger Cars.”

Heartland will mail out replacement certification labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 15. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 877-262-8032.

JAYCO, INC.

Camera Control Module May Overheat

A camera image that does not display decreases the driver’s visibility, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 137

Jayco is recalling certain 2023-2025 Entegra Aspire Type A motorhomes. The camera control module may have been installed upside down and flush to the floor, which can cause the module to overheat and prevent the camera’s image display.

Dealers will inspect the camera image, install two brackets and replace the module as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 7. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9903607.

 

Short Circuit From Incorrectly Routed Wiring

A short circuit increases the fire risk. A short circuit can additionally cause loss of drive power, power steering and brake system control, which increases the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 6

Jayco is recalling certain 2023-2024 Jayco Terrain and Entegra Launch motorhomes. The main wiring harness may rub against the drive shaft and short circuit, which can result in a loss of drive power, power steering and brake system control.

Mercedes dealers will inspect the routing of the main wiring harness and correct it, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 7. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267.

 

Seat Belt Warning System Malfunction/FMVSS 208

A malfunctioning seat belt warning system can result in improper seat belt use, increasing the injury risk in a crash.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 33

Jayco is recalling certain Jayco Swift, Swift Li, Entegra Coach Ethos and Ethos Li motorhomes. The driver’s seat belt warning light and audible chime may not activate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”

Stellantis’ Ram dealerships will inspect and replace the driver seat belt buckle as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 14. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267.

WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES, INC.

Air Bags May Fail to Deploy

Damaged wires can prevent air bags from deploying in a crash, increasing the injury risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 15,572

Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2017-2025 Revel, 2020-2025 Navion, Porto, View, Vita, 2022-2023 Adventure Van and 2024-2025 Ekko motorhomes. Supplemental restraint system wires can be caught in the seat mechanism when the driver or passenger seats are adjusted.

Dealers will inspect and re-route the wiring, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 28. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 641-585-6939 or 800-537-1885. Winnebago’s number for this recall is 185.
