Grand Design RV and Beacon Health System opened a new, onsite Team Services Clinic at the RV manufacturer’s campus in Middlebury, Indiana.
The clinic is part of an expanded partnership between the organizations. The facility houses a clinical care team focused on injury prevention and care services. Dr. Vivian Onunkwo, the medical director at Beacon Occupational Health, oversees the clinic. Brock Haut, Beacon Health System’s director of retail operations, will oversee the physical therapy team.
“Grand Design is committed to providing high-quality, respectful and compassionate care for their team,” Onunkwo said. “We believe that can be best accomplished by having a dedicated medical team onsite to build trusting relationships, meet team members in their work environment and understand who they are and the work they do.”
Beacon Occupational Health provides an onsite occupational health nurse at the clinic while Beacon Outpatient Physical Therapy staffs a physical therapist. Any Grand Design RV team member experiencing job discomfort works with the physical therapist to alleviate the discomfort before it becomes an injury.
Potential injuries are assessed by the trained occupational health nurse, who provides immediate care and refers the patient for additional treatment when appropriate.
In addition to health and wellness treatment, the worksite physical therapist provides interactive education, discomfort evaluation and worksite ergonomic evaluations. The physical therapist acts as an active part of the company’s safety committee.
Grand Design President and CEO Don Clark said: “We place a very heavy emphasis on and commitment to safety here at Grand Design. Our partnership with Beacon demonstrates our dedication to true, compassionate care for our colleagues and their well-being. We are proud to provide outstanding medical treatment to our Grand Design team.”
As part of Winnebago Industries, Grand Design is committed to achieving a “zero-harm” workplace.
