Grand Design RV, which was among the first RV manufacturers to adopt anti-lock braking systems (ABS) in 2023 model year fifth wheels, is bringing the technology to 2024 model year Imagine and Imagine XLS travel trailers.

Grand Design said adding Lippert’s ABS to its travel trailers promises to redefine towing stability.

Eric Landis, Grand Design’s product manager for the Imagine line, said: “We are continually exploring ways to enhance the satisfaction of our customers. The introduction of ABS to the Imagine products is a testament to our commitment to innovation and customer well-being. We believe this technology will redefine travel trailer standards and elevate the travel experience for our owners.”

The ABS prevents wheel lockup during braking and improves control on slippery roads and in emergency braking situations.

Key ABS benefits include:

  • Enhanced Stability and Control: The ABS technology continuously monitors wheel speed and adjusts brake pressure to prevent wheel lockup. This enhances owner control and significantly reduces skidding or jackknifing risk.
  • Shorter Stopping Distances: With the ABS in place, travel trailers can stop for shorter distances.
  • Reduced Tire Wear: The ABS system promotes even and controlled braking, which can reduce wear on trailer’s tires.
  • Compliance with Safety Standards: The ABS addition to the Imagine brand reinforces Grand Design’s dedication to keeping travelers safe and up to date with the latest technologies.

The ABS is available on all Imagine and Imagine XLS travel trailers. For more information, pricing or to find a local dealer, visit GrandDesignRV.com.

Safety enhancements, such as the ABS system, are not a substitute for driver judgment. Grand Design encouraged drivers to use good judgment in driving and always operate vehicles in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
