After almost 20 years in the industry, Hellwig Suspension Products President and CEO Melanie Hellwig-White is still walking the factory floor in steel-toed boots.
She was honored with a 2024 Women MAKE Award from the Manufacturing Institute for her inspiring and impactful work.
The Manufacturing Institute, a National Association of Manufacturers workforce development and education affiliate, honored 130 women in the manufacturing industry who demonstrate excellence and leadership in their careers. Recipients are selected based on their leadership, innovation, mentorship and community impact.
Hellwig-White has climbed the ranks of her family’s company since 2005. She became president and CEO in 2018 and nearly tripled the business’s revenue.
Hellwig-White serves as an advisor to engineering university students through the Society of Automotive Engineers in southern California. She partnered with the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Businesswomen’s Network and SEMA’s Gear-Up Girl programs.
She was appointed SEMA’s incoming board of directors chairman. She now works to protect and grow family-owned small businesses across the U.S.
