Hellwig Suspension Products, a manufacturer of towing, hauling and suspension products, released a helper spring kit for the 2014-2021 Ram ProMaster.
The helper spring kit, part No. 1915, replaces the discontinued part No. 9665, the EZ-990 Helper Spring Kit for Ram ProMaster 2500 models. Helper springs enable ProMaster owners to haul heavy loads with improved safety, stability and comfort. The springs maintain a level ride height, improving overall drive control.
The Ram ProMaster is a popular vehicle choice for fleets owners using service vans, Hellwig stated, and has become a common choice for overland-style van builds. Although these vans may be rated to haul their heaviest loads yet, the heavy cargo can cause vans to sag in the rear, reducing driver control and safety, Hellwig stated. Restoring weight to the front tires results in better braking and steering, balanced tire wear and improved safety.
The new product is a leaf spring kit using a single underslung leaf rated up to 1,500 pounds. The product uses an adjustable-rate spring with polyurethane bushings and Hellwig’s powder coat finish. The kit includes all necessary mounting hardware for a complete installation. These helper springs fit Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500 and 3500 models.
