Indiana Campground Groups Merge

The Indiana Manufactured Housing Association – Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council (IMHA-RVIC) will merge with the Indiana Campground Owners Association (ICOA). The groups collectively will affiliate as a partnering state with the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) to provide expanded private campgrounds benefits in Indiana.

The groups said they will be combining resources and promotional efforts statewide. ICOA members will have the opportunity to join IMHA-RVIC at the end of 2021.

“The merger of ICOA and IMHA-RVIC is a significant development,” IMHA-RVIC Executive Director Ron Breymier said. “Campgrounds, RV manufacturers and RV dealers coming together under one umbrella, speaking with one voice, will provide a united front for promoting Indiana’s outdoor recreation industry to consumers and government officials.”

Sandy George, owner of Pioneer Family Campground and current ICOA president, said, “Going through a pandemic proved to us that we are stronger when our associations work together for the common good of all our campground members.”

Campground members will realize benefits from IMHA-RVIC and ARVC, along with previous ICOA benefits that include a printed campground directory.

The ICOA name will remain intact as the campground division of IMHA-RVIC. IMHA-RVIC’s management office in Indianapolis will remain in place.

“ARVC has always believed our industry is stronger together, so we are thrilled to see these two state associations join forces and partner with us,” ARVC President and CEO Paul Bambei said. “Unified, we will get so much more done for private campgrounds in Indiana and for the industry as a whole.”
