U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) named Lichtsinn RV of Forest City, Iowa, as her Small Business of the Week.
Ernst said the dealership brought consumers to Forest City for over 40 years to peruse the company’s various RVs.
She said, “A commitment to community and industry excellence is the fuel that drives Lichtsinn RV.”
Ernst is recognizing a local business in each of the state’s 99 counties.
The dealership began as an automotive dealer in the mid-1970s but transitioned to selling RVs in 1979, beginning with Winnebago conversion vans.
Ron Lichtsinn said, “This recognition has been achieved through our team of employees who work each and every day to bring a positive RV lifestyle experience to our guests.”
The dealership first achieved the Flying W Customer Service Satisfaction Award (previously called the Circle of Excellence Award) in 1994. The store won the award each year since.
In 2001, Ron Sr.’s son, Ron Lichtsinn II, and his wife, Hope, bought Lichtsinn Motors. The dealership continued to grow during the next several years, becoming the largest Motorhome Dealer in the state of Iowa, awarded by Statistical Surveys Inc.
In November 2022, Lichtsinn RV completed a multiphase new RV sales, parts and service building and expansion. The expansion included an extended campground and indoor showroom.
