Jayco handed out its annual dealer awards last week during the manufacturer’s Dealer Homecoming event in Las Vegas.
The top award, the Jayco Founders Award, was presented to Apache Village RV Center in Hazelwood, Missouri.
The dealership was founded in 1976 by Ray and Mary Ellen Meyer. The store launched with a single motto, “Do everything you say you will and more, and people will spread the word.”
The dealership relied on its word-of-mouth marketing to grow into one of Missouri’s largest dealerships. John Meyer bought the store from his parents in 1986 and since handed over day-to-day operations to the family’s third generation.
Jack Meyer is the store’s general manager, brother Mick Meyer is expected to be a future general manager and sister Megan Powell is the advertising director.
Jayco’s Founders Award was established in 2002. The award honors a dealership whose leadership consistently reflects dedication to sales and support. The award recognizes dealers who demonstrated loyalty and commitment to Jayco over an extended period of time and embodied the spirit of Jayco’s founders.
The manufacturer recognized top sales leaders and longtime Jayco dealers marking milestone anniversaries in their relationship with Jayco.
The overall sales volume leader among multi-location dealerships was Camping World. Pete’s RV Center in South Windsor, Connecticut, was the single location overall sales volume leader. The South Windsor store was the top-selling motorized store by sales volume and ranked second among towable sales.
Sicard RV in Ontario, Canada, was the top-selling towable dealer by sales volume.
