Together with parent company Thor Industries, the Jayco Family of Companies held its fourth annual Boys & Girls Club RV Day at the Boys & Girls Club of Middlebury, Ind. June 14.
Over 120 club members explored seven themed RV-related stations. One station included a campfire safety lesson from the Middlebury Fire Department.
The event provided an opportunity for the children to get an inside look at RVs and what an RV lifestyle can offer.
“We are in complete alignment and fully support the mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Middlebury, and we recognize the unbelievably key role it plays in our community,” said Ken Walters, Jay co president and CEO. “So many Jayco families have kids as active members within the Boys & Girls Club, and we are beyond proud to show them the products that their parents help to create.”
Members also toured different towable and motorized units, enjoyed an obstacle course, and took pictures with Jayco’s mascot J Jay. The activities wrapped up with Kona Ice and a screening of the movie Yogi Bear.
Erin McNeal, Boys & Girls Club of Middlebury Area Director said: “RV Day is something that we look forward to every year because it is a time that helps show our youth the support that the people in our community have for them and opens their eyes to some pretty exciting things that are made right in their own backyard. A lot of our youth have family members that work in the manufacturing industry, but not all of them get the chance to see the units up close and ask questions about them. It really is a great way to bring fun, education, and community support directly to the youth.”
