Jayco will launch a voice-activated multiplex system on select 2022 luxury fifth-wheel models.
Dubbed JayVoice, the manufacturer said the system will provide customers with a more intuitive way to interact with technology. The system will be standard on North Point, Pinnacle and Seismic Alpha models.
“The JayVoice system is something that we have had in the works over the last several years,” said Jayco’s Mike Aplin, director of product development – luxury fifth wheels. “We have been waiting to find the right vendor partner to make this idea come to life and American Technology Components helped us get there. This idea was based off of our customer and dealer feedback and we are excited to offer this first phase in Model Year 2022.”
JayVoice works in conjunction with the Jaycommand multiplex to control functions including air conditioners, lights and furnaces. The system is prompted by a wake word, “Jayco.” Once the word is spoken, the voice receiver on the ceiling will light up to indicate it is listening for a command. Consumers follow “Jayco” with any preset commands, such as “Main A/C,” to operate systems by voice. The receiver is mounted centrally within the RV to enable utilization throughout the unit.
“More commands to make this system more scalable are to come in the future,” Aplin said. “Our ideas are bigger than the technological capabilities we have at the moment, but we look forward to adding more and more. Functions like this are not possible without the dedication and hard work from the whole luxury fifth-wheel team.”
Jaycommand functions can be operated through phone or tablet operations, in addition to the JayVoice voice command system.
DRV Mobile Suites also is launching a voice-activated system this model year.
