Kampgrounds of America’s (KOA) annual convention conducted a raffle ticket sale, celebration dinner and silent and live auctions to raise funds for Care Camps.
The events raised $221,774 for Care Camps, a non-profit organization funding pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada.
Care Camps focus on healing through the outdoors and community. This year, KOA raised over $1 million—in addition to the convention total.
Care Camps Executive Director Gwynn Sullivan said, “(KOA) ignited our charity from the grassroots and have remained steadfast and committed in their support in many ways beyond monetarily. The opportunity to celebrate our partnership at their annual convention is one of the highlights of our year.”
The most popular live auction item sold for $52,000. The package included a personalized KOA headquarter tour in Billings, Montana, a dinner with the KOA executive team and the option to participate in Care Camps’ “Fore the Kids” annual golf tournament Sept. 16, 2024.
In 2023, Care Camps funded more than 120 camps across the U.S. and Canada.
Sullivan said, “Their camp experience gives these children an experience that has a lasting impact on their lives as well as their family and many more.”
