Kenda Americana Tire and Wheel used the new year to launch new, style-forward AM03 and AM04 aluminum wheels, designed for towables.
The company said the wheels are “right for the times,” with new designs capitalizing on the resurgence in popularity of RV travel and boat ownership, the booming sales of RVs and trailers and the influx of millennial RV/boat owners who care about aesthetics.
“It’s really positioned for the younger potential RVer and traveler out there inclined to want more customized and contemporary looks to their wheels,” Kenda said through a spokesperson. “Kenda saw a need in the market and started to really produce these new wheels.”
Dave Craig, Kenda president, said the growing millennial owner segment prompted the company to design additional high-end, visually appealing tire and wheel assemblies.
“Style-conscious millennials are clamoring to the RV/boat trailer market,” Craig said, “and bringing with them tastes honed in the car/truck and motorsport markets, where there is infinite variety in wheel fashion. They expect the same for their RVs and boats– they are passionate about wheel aesthetics.”
Craig said Kenda designed the AM03 and AM04 wheels to give RV, marine and trailer OEMs and distributors options to meet the expectations of these consumers.
Available in the six most popular trailer tire sizes, the wheels are made of cast alloy aluminum for solid balance and performance with lower rolling resistance. Both series met SAE J1204 testing specifications ensuring performance standards.
The AM03 and AM04 wheels are available in high-demand colors, including matte black, all black gloss, gun metal, and silver. Colors are created from automotive-grade paint with a clear coat finish. Many colors are available, with machined accents generating eight finish options.
