Knowing where consumers can park their RV for a weekend away will be a walk in the park thanks to Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA)’s new partnership.
KOA partnered with CampMap, a digital campground mapping platform, to provide interactive digital sitemaps on KOA’s website.
Consumers will be able to access CampMap’s interactive maps on all 500+ campsites across North America. Each campsite can input photos and details onto the map to include amenities and individual sites.
CampMap owner and founder Simon Neal said, “My vision for CampMap is to share the maps, services and data we create to benefit operators, registration platforms and guests. KOA is a leader in the outdoor hospitality industry who recognizes the value of our services and is willing to work with us to drive innovation. It has been a wonderful partnership for our first proof of concept for the use of our technology in this way.”
KOA and CampMap plan to launch Phase Two enhancements towards the end of March, enabling consumers to book a campsite reservation from the map.
Wisconsin Dells KOA Holiday campground owner Nate Thompson said, “We are excited about the opportunities this partnership with CampMap offers our campgrounds. The map is a giant leap forward from the static PDF option historically available online.”
KOA said campgrounds interested in adding CampMap on their site can expect a four-week onboarding process. The finished map will synchronize to KOA’s website automatically. Onboarding and annual fees will cover maintenance, map updates and support from a CampMap representative.
