Terramor Outdoor Resort, an outdoor resort situated just minutes from Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island in Maine, was named the winner of the New Brand Launch category during the 17th annual Hospitality Design (HD) Awards ceremony.
Rob Parker, facilities manager at Terramor Outdoor Resort, and Michael Wade, project architect with Design Group Collaborative, accepted the award during the New York-based event. Terramor Outdoor Resort was announced as a new venture by Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) in late 2019 as an elevated outdoor hospitality experience designed to combine access to nature with the amenities and comforts of a resort. The 60-acre property features 64 canvas tents with upscale finishings set among the trees, and a central lodge featuring food service, bar, store and guest services.
Construction finished on Terramor Outdoor Resort in summer 2020. The property officially opened to guests as part of an abbreviated, soft opening before closing for the winter months.
Terramor Outdoor Resort was selected as a finalist in the HD Awards New Brand Launch category in June and was one of two new brands to receive the top designation during the ceremony this week.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from the Hospitality Design team, and are thankful to our partners at Design Group Collaborative and EDG Interior Architecture + Design for their collaboration and commitment to making the Terramor Outdoor Resort concept a reality,” said Whitney Scott, chief operating officer at Terramor Outdoor Resort. “The finalists in the New Brand Launch category were among the best in hospitality and coming out on top is a testament to the unique experience an outdoor resort provides. We have received glowing reviews from guests this season and look forward to introducing Terramor to even more travelers and expanding to more locations in the coming years.”
