Canada’s largest RV show kicked off Thursday with more than 400,000-square-feet of RVs on display. The Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show showcases the hottest trends in RVing and camping. The only show produced by the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) will run from Feb. 27 to March 1 at the Toronto International Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
CRVA RV Show Director Shannon O’Callaghan told RV News Thursday’s opening day crowd was slightly lower than last year due to weather. Thursday is always the lightest attendance day of the show, she said, however the most serious buyers usually attend on Thursday and Friday and they were out yesterday. Weekend weather forecasts call for sun and warmer weather leaving organizers extremely optimistic.
Last year’s show drew more than 25,000 attendees. Attendance has been growing at 10-25 percent each year, O’Callaghan said, so they anticipate a nice increase again this year. Organizers arranged for additional parking space for the show.
The event features five exhibit halls with more than 500 RVs on display ranging from pop-up campers to type As and park models. An 11,000-square-foot parts and accessories store will cater to campers as well. A variety of seminars are planned for attendees.
CRVA reports more than 2.1 million Canadian households own an RV. Canadians took 8.8 million RV trips in 2017, generating 4.1 billion for Canadian tourism.
