Lazydays Holdings, Inc. announced just before Christmas the nearly six-year leadership stint by William P. Murnane is coming to an end.

The executive is stepping down as chairman and CEO. Robert DeVincenzi, currently lead independent director of the Lazydays Board of Directors, will assume the role of interim CEO on Jan. 1. Christopher Shackelton, a current board director, has been named the new board chairman effective Dec. 23.

Murnane notified the board of his decision to resign as chairman effective Dec. 22, and as CEO effective March 16, 2022. At the board’s election, and consistent with the terms of Murnane’s employment, Lazydays stated the board accelerated the CEO transition date to Jan. 1.

The company stated the board is commencing a search for the company’s next CEO through a leading executive search firm, which will identify and evaluate candidates.

Shackelton, on behalf of the board, thanked Murnane for his work at the company the past five years as CEO and past 12 as chairman.

“Murnane has overseen the company’s national expansion,” Shackelton said, “while building on our strong relationships with OEM partners and growing our loyal and passionate customer base. We wish him all the best in the future.”

DeVincenzi said he is honored to be interim CEO.

“I have every confidence that this will be a seamless transition for all our stakeholders,” DeVincenzi said. “Lazydays has some of the most dedicated employees in the industry. As the board conducts a CEO search process, I look forward to working closely with them and the entire Lazydays leadership team to execute on our growth strategy and uphold our reputation as ‘The RV authority.’”

DeVincenzi said part of the transition will be a board-led review of Lazyday’s capital allocation framework.

“With our strong balance sheet and high levels of cash flow generation,” DeVincenzi said, “coupled with the growing interest in the RV lifestyle, we are excited about the many opportunities to create value for our employees, partners and shareholders.”

DeVincenzi was appointed as Lazydays’ lead independent director in October 2021. He has worked in various technology and services markets and has extensive executive and board-level experience. DeVincenzi serves as board chairman of Universal Technical Institute, a nationwide provider of technical education and training. He is also a principal partner in Lupine Venture Group, a business advisory firm that provides strategic consulting and corporate development advisory services.
