LCI Industries announced Nov. 20 that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Lippert Components, acquired Challenger Door.

Challenger Door is a specialty product and door manufacturer and distributor located in Nappanee, Indiana.

“I think as we head down this road, what we’re seeing is opportunity for synergies that can be helpful for both sides of business,” said Michael Reid, Challenger Door’s operations manager. “As [Lippert] comes in and has conversations here, there seems to be a lot of excitement based on what they’re seeing.”

Reid said the timing was right to sell, as the company’s investment owners were a group ready to capitalize on their investment.

LCI’s VP of Marking and Public Relations Jarod Lippert said Lippert entered the laminated door industry in 2009.

“Since then, we’ve grown with many innovations and we believe that Challenger is a great addition to our core competencies of laminated door products,” Lippert said. “They have a great team, everything fits right and the product line is what we do within our seven core competencies as a manufacturer.”

LCI President and CEO Jason Lippert stated that the acquisition will allow the company to increase its capacity and customer support.

“The addition of Challenger Door’s customized quality products, commitment to exceptional customer service and solid leadership will allow us to continue our growth and provide top-of-the-line product offerings and solutions to our customers,” Lippert stated.

“We’re excited to welcome the Challenger Door team to the LCI family,” stated Ryan Smith, LCI North American group president. “In evaluating acquisitions, a top priority is to enhance our customers’ experience. Despite the challenging pandemic economy, we believe that this acquisition will continue to strengthen our ability to provide exceptional service and speed to our customers.”

Reid said the process is in its beginning stages, with focus on preparing and onboarding.
