“Tis the season” at Lippert Components, as team members and employees said the company’s holiday celebration at Shipshewana’s Lights of Joy was “magical.”
On Dec. 8, Lippert welcomed more than 5,000 team members and their families to rejoice at Shipshewana’s Lights of Joy, a 1.5-mile long light display featuring more than two million colorful bulbs synchronized to classic holiday music.
“Having the opportunity to see Lippert partner with Shipshewana Lights of Joy was such an amazing experience,” said Michilah Grimes, Lippert director of corporate and community impact. “Christmas is such a magical time of year to begin with, but seeing kids’ faces light up at the site of a Reindeer, Santa Claus and Christmas lights was unforgettable.”
Normally a drive-through experience, Shipshewana’s display was transformed into a spirited walk by Lippert team members, featuring children’s activities, hot cocoa and character meet-and-greets.
The free event provided a safe, family-friendly holiday experience aimed at showing appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the Lippert team, in line with the company’s culture of caring for people, the company said.
“People are our priority and community is our core,” Lippert said. “Finding a way to celebrate the holidays and strengthen team member relationships while supporting a community partner was top priority during the planning stages.”
Makayla Oberlin, Lippert’s human resources representative, said she knows Lippert team members are looking forward to it again next year.
“There is something special about getting outside of the plant and making memories with team members and their families in different ways,” Oberlin said. “I know for a fact that this was an experience our team members will not forget.”
