Lippert Components, Inc. recently joined forces with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization dedicated to providing beds to children in need. Together, the companies hosted a community Bed Build at Lippert’s Tinley Park, Ill., distribution center.
On May 6, 100 Lippert team members, friends, family and community members took part in the Bed Build event organized with the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Oak Forest chapter members. Volunteers of all skill levels built and assembled just under 40 bunk beds. Sleep in Heavenly Peace delivered the beds to children in crisis in the Chicago suburbs.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace crafted the motto, ‘No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.’ To help the organization make good on the motto’s promise, Lippert donated 50 Sommum Comfortfoamz mattresses to the cause.
Lippert Director of Corporate and Community Impact Michilah Grimes said: “I am thrilled that our company was able to provide much-needed support to an organization that is making a real difference in the lives of children. A good night’s sleep is so important for a child’s physical and emotional well-being, and we are blessed to provide not only the space and labor it takes to build these beds but also the mattresses to go with them.”
Lippert provides the RV, hospitality, trucking and higher education industries with various sleep products. The company produces about 3,000 mattresses daily.
“These children deserve a comfortable place to rest their heads at night,” Grimes said. “Sleep in Heavenly Peace does an incredible job of making sure they have that, and we are honored to be able to contribute to that goal in a meaningful way.”
