Lippert won Best New Exterior Accessory Product at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, which runs until Friday.
The award recognized the Curt Helux Series Coil Spring Fifth Wheel Pin Box, which works in conjunction with the supplier’s Touring Coil Suspension (TCS). The coil spring technology reduces chucking, vibrations and stress at coupling points, decreasing trailer wear.
Closed track testing revealed that Helux has 30% less shock absorption in the frame compared with other pin boxes.
The coil spring technology reduces consumer maintenance. The Helux is covered in a three-layer coating to prevent corrosion. The product is available in standard kingpin and gooseneck versions with weight ratings up to 24,000 pounds.
