Wilson Health, with help from Airstream and the Shelby County Commissioners joined forces to set up a COVID-19 testing site. The testing center location is the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Sidney, Ohio. The site began seeing patients on Wednesday.

Airstream donated two Nest travel trailers to Wilson Health. The trailers will be used by the organization to conduct testing. Wilson Health President and CEO Mark Klosterman said it was amazing to see how quickly the community and local business partners came to its aid. The organization made calls to Airstream CEO Bob Wheeler and the county commissioners who all agreed to help the effort.

Drive Through Testing

The drive-through COVID-19 testing facility will collect specimens from patients who possess a written order from their doctor to have the testing performed. Testing kit supplies are limited.

Airstream’s Wheeler said the company wanted to do its part to help contain spread of the virus. He cited Airstream’s founder Wally Byam’s desire to promote goodwill among mankind.
