Justin Rose did not win the Masters golf tournament Sunday, but the 44-year-old golf professional from England came as close as possible. Rose lost to champion Rory McIlroy in a playoff.
During the tournament, Rose credited the modified RV he owns in part for his ability to perform on the golf course.
After his second round Friday, Rose said the converted RV/mobile health center has improved his game.
“It’s more of a recovery vehicle than a gym,” he said, according to “bunkered” magazine. “Got to stay young. The whole reason for having it is, I live in England and play the PGA Tour, and so there’s a lot of travel. How do I mitigate that extra load on my body to stay willing and able and capable enough to compete out here?
“So, anything I can do to mitigate the wear and tear on my body, especially as I get older, obviously I’m willing to invest in that. I think it’s been very helpful.”
Rose is nine years older than McIlroy.
Rose bought the RV in 2023 and transformed the interior.
In place of the sofa, Rose installed a red light bed, which he said is good for his cells and energy levels. In the living room, he installed a spin bike. The bicycle connects to a fresh oxygen tank, providing additional oxygen as he cycles to keep his heart rate around 120 beats per minute.
The bed in the bedroom was replaced by a large tub. The tub cools water to 40 degrees Fahrenheit and provides hot water as well. Rose said the hot and cold plunges help his muscles to recover after practice or a day on the golf course.
The bedroom area now includes a steam shower and an infrared sauna for detoxing.
