A family-owned, Minnesota-based dealership sold to Markquart RV. RV Business Solutions facilitated the sale.
North Country RV’s tale began in 1958 when founder Dave Rignell sold RVs at St. Croix Valley Trailer Sales in Scandia, Minnesota. In 1983, after operating a campground for seven years, Rignell and his wife, Marlys, opened their first RV dealership in Forest Lake, Minnesota.
By 1985, the dealership relocated to a building on Highway 65 in Blaine, Minnesota. The location included a three-bay service building. At their second store, Rignell broadened his offering by adding Lance Camper truck campers. The truck campers joined the dealer’s travel trailer and fifth wheel lot.
The company moved again in 2004 to enhance service. The dealership relocated to 14525 Highway 65 NE, Ham Lake, Minnesota, where the business currently operates. The property includes an indoor showroom, eight service bays and a parts store.
Rignell stocked Lance travel trailers and KZ-RV towables by 2007.
Markquart RV President Charlee Markquart said, “They have built a great culture at the store, and we look forward to bringing them into our family of dealerships.”
Rignell’s children Dianna and Brian, and Brian’s wife Stephanie, continued to uphold Rignell’s values of providing quality customer service and representing quality manufacturers.
North Country RV is a Minnesota RV Dealer Association member and participates in local RV shows.

The location will be Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin-based Markquart RV’s second Minnesota dealership and ninth nationwide location. Markquart said the transaction will support the dealer chain in growing its consumer base.
