Brothers Marty and Trey Southerland, third generation mattress manufacturers, launched a new company: Mobile Mattress.
Raised in Nashville, Tennessee and formerly associated with their family’s mattress business formed in 1929, the brothers are offering mattress bedding for the RV and trucking industry. The idea for Mobile Mattress was formed initially as a solution for semi-truck drivers that would complain about the comfort of their cab mattress, which coincided with Marty’s purchase of an RV trailer. He and his wife were dissatisfied with the bedding and knew then that the solution would be in developing quality bedding for mobile vehicles
Mobile Mattress will be formerly launched to the RV/motorhome industry at The Georgia RV & Camper Show in Atlanta, scheduled for Feb. 11 – 13. The company leadership plans to announce the trucking mattress options later this month
Customers can browse bedding options on RVandTruckMattress.com. Options now available are a 10” Road Dreams Gel Cooling Memory Foam mattress, currently on sale for the launch of the company, or a 6.5” Sleep Express Memory Foam mattress.
Marty Southerland, co-owner and president, said the company’s mission is to improve RVers’ sleeping experience.
“We have been in the mattress business a combined 65 years and noticed the need for a higher-grade mattress for the mobile market,” Southerland said. “We want to improve your sleep in your ‘home away from home.’”
Mobile Mattress will have a booth and mattress samples at its first consumer RV show at the Georgia show. Marty Southerland will be at booth #225 to help answer any questions about product specifications, distribution, and cost. Orders made online will be shipped free of charge in the continental United States and can be tracked via the company website.
Southerland said the company is seeking to add dealers nationwide, and is offering special pricing based on the buy-in and ability to showcase a sample mattress.
