Around 40 to 60 million 1-pound, single-use propane bottles are sold each year. Many bottles end up in landfills.
To avoid single-use propane tanks populating landfills, Ignik created the Gas Growler Deluxe in 2019. More than 75,000 Gas Growlers have been sold since. According to Ignik Vice President of Brand and Product Peter Pontano, Gas Growler sales have prevented more than 700,000 single-use propane tanks from falling into landfills.
Ignik launched new Gas Growler products. The Gas Growler 3.8 refill yields around four times the fuel compared with a single-use bottle. The tank is sized to fit stoves, lanterns and small portable heaters.
Gas Growler tanks are sold empty. Pontano said by providing options such as the Gas Growler 3.8, “we are truly excited to see a shift in behavior by ingraining the idea of refillable propane into the outdoor adventure lifestyle.”
Ignik also introduced new colors for its existing products. The 5-pound fuel capacity Gas Growler Deluxe is available in Arctic Camo. The 10-pound fuel capacity Gas Growler X is now available in Black. Both will be offered later this spring.
The supplier will introduce the Gas Growler 3.8 Deluxe this spring. The tank will include a 4-foot adapter hose compatible with all single and double-burner camp stoves and portable heaters.
