nuCamp, a manufacturer of campers and teardrop trailers, launched a new consumer app late last month. The free app has been named uCamp after the annual Teardrop Trailer Rally nuCamp hosts every year in Sugarcreek, Ohio. It includes three primary functions: uPlan, uShare and uConnect.
nuCamp partnered with Augustwenty, an Ohio-based software development consultancy, nearly a year ago to design the app. The app was developed primarily to engage consumers and cultivate connections within the nuCamp community. nuCamp’s active owners cohort helps set the company apart from other manufacturers, nuCamp said.
“At nuCamp, we continually look for ways to enhance our customers’ experience,” CEO Scott Hubble said. “Our interaction does not stop when a camper is purchased. The owners become part of the nuCamp family, and we love seeing the adventures and helping them get the most out of every trip. The Connect feature will continue to bring the feeling of comradery and community to owners all the time — not just at rallies and events. This aspect of the app sets it apart from other apps in the space. Augustwenty’s experience and knowledge throughout the project was indispensable.”
nuCamp chose to name the app after its annual teardrop trailer rally to pay homage to an event where many arrive as strangers and leave as friends, the company said. nuCamp hopes to offer the same experience through the app.
uPlan helps RVers plot their adventures by searching for places to travel. Consumers can add a starting location and a final destination, and the app will map the route. Stops can be added and RVers can look back at trips to see where they traveled.
uShare helps RVers capture camping memories with a journaling feature. Consumers can add pictures and share their thoughts with friends and family.
uConnect enables RVers to link with other RVers. Consumers can turn on their location and allow themselves to be discovered by fellow uCamp RVers in the area. RVers can reach out for chats or make plans with one another.
Two other features designed explicitly for nuCamp owners include product support and an online store. The support feature supplies provides FAQs, support articles, product manuals, and contact information for the nuCamp customer experience and warranty teams.
The online store app launch coincided with the unveiling of an all-new nuCamp branded apparel store on the company website.
The nuCamp app is available for download via the Apple App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android.
