
Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) will host a panel discussion at the South by Southwest Film and TV Festival (SXSW).
The panel will explore how technology is transforming outdoor access. The panel is titled “Recharge vs. Unplugged: How Tech is Revolutionizing Outdoor Recreation for All,” and will be held at 10 a.m. CDT March 11 at Inn Cahoots in Austin, Texas.
The 60-minute discussion will review how advancements in technology have transformed the way people experience nature. The panel will highlight improving safety, accessibility and sustainability. Attendees can engage directly with industry leaders through the Q&A session.
ORR Senior Program Director Ambreen Tariq will moderate the session. The panelists are:
- Kai Twanmoh, AllTrails head of brand communications
- Molly Stoecklein, OnXmaps head of PR and communications
- Camilo Barcenas, GOES Health CEO
- Molly Morgan, Trust for Public Land Texas state director and associate vice president
- Toby Kraus, Lightship co-founder and CEO
“Outdoor recreation and technology are often seen as opposing forces, but the reality is that innovation is making outdoor access easier, safer and more inclusive for all,” Tariq said. “ORR is proud to convene this discussion to highlight how industry leaders are leveraging technology to inspire, educate and empower more people to enjoy the great outdoors.”
The panel is hosted in collaboration with Midwest House at SXSW.
