President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn in at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 20, prompting reactions from the outdoor recreation industry.

RVIA said the association looks forward to working with new administration.

“The RV Industry Association congratulates President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their historic inauguration today,” RVIA President Craig Kirby said. “We look forward to working with the incoming Biden Administration on their key priorities, as well as the RV industry’s priorities including campground modernization and expansion, tax and trade issues.”

RVDA President Phil Ingrassia said RVDA joins with its allied associations that make up the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) in congratulating the new president and vice president.

“RVDA will work with our ORR partners to assist with the new administration and Congress to implement the Great American Outdoors Act,” Ingrassia said, “Which will help the U.S. recover from the pandemic both physically and mentally through more recreation opportunities, RV travel and camping.”

ORR represents RVing, camping, fishing, off-roading, diving, boating, hunting, horseback and skiing communities, among others.

“On behalf of more than 30 organizations that represent the 110,000 businesses and millions of employees nationwide that make up America’s outdoor recreation industry, ORR congratulates President Biden and Vice President Harris on their inauguration,” ORR acting Executive Director Lindsey Davis said.

“We look forward to working with, and being a resource for, President Biden and his administration on the $788 billion outdoor recreation economy and its 5.2 million jobs, and on issues of outdoor infrastructure, equitable access to the outdoors, environmentally friendly solutions, implementation of the Great American Outdoors Act, the Land and Water Conservation Fund and more,” Davis said.

Davis said that ORR appreciates President Biden and his administration’s support within the economy’s outdoor recreation sector.

“[ORR] looks forward to working together on the key pillars of economic recovery, COVID-19, racial equality and climate change,” Davis added.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), a trade association representing boat, marine engine and accessory manufacturers, issued a statement via Twitter.

“Congrats to our new [president, Joe Biden] and [vice president, Kamala Harris],” NMMA said. “On behalf of the 690,000 American workers across recreational boating, we look forward to working with you to help more Americans get outdoors and ensure a growing economy.”
