Chris Perkins stepped into a new role at Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR).
Perkins has been promoted to vice president of programs. He was hired in 2021 as a senior director with a focus on rural economic development.
ORR President Jessica Wahl Turner said, “We are excited to see Chris Perkins shine in this elevated role.”
ORR said Perkins invested support and insight into the industry, which has led him to this position.
Perkins collaborated with industry leaders on ORR’s Workforce Hub launch. He created the Rural Economic Development Toolkit, which is used in communities nationwide.
Turner said, “Chris’s dedication, expertise, and vision for the future of outdoor recreation and the industry align with where ORR is headed as an organization.”
Perkins’ new responsibilities will include strategic planning and development, industry engagement and membership support. He will oversee managing state recreation, rural development and outdoor workforce initiatives.
“I am eager to continue stewarding this progress forward,” Perkins said, “and ensuring that all Americans can benefit from time outdoors.”
