RV rental marketplace Outdoorsy appointed a new board member to expand the company’s female leadership.
The company stated it is “further bolstering its board” by appointing Kim Armor as director and chairwoman of Outdoorsy’s audit committee.
Armor currently serves as Comcast Ventures’ managing director and chief financial officer, the company stated, where she oversees investment portfolios and financial operations. With extensive experience in disruptive market business, Outdoorsy stated Armor will bring the board expertise on investments, strategic and financial planning, organizational leadership, operational proves, audit and mentorship.
Outdoorsy co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Jen Young was elected as advisory board member for the Women Leading Travel Hospitality association. The organization is a new initiative, Outdoorsy stated, which aims to connect women in executive roles across all travel and hospitality industry sectors.
Young will join board members from other travel companies such as Hard Rock International, Airbnb, Hotwire and Four Seasons. “As one of the board members, Young will provide resources, industry expertise and participate in key events to help build up the community of strong woman leaders across the nation,” Outdoorsy stated.
“A big part of Outdoorsy’s success has come from having strong female leaders around the table, both through important industry groups such as the Women Leading Travel & Hospitality and our own board,” Outdoorsy co-founder and CEO Jeff Cavins said. “We are so proud to see Jen on the forefront, leading the industry in its transformative years, and we are thrilled to have Kim join our board and help us in our journey to expand our global position in the RV and outdoor travel industry.”
Outdoorsy stated the announcements follow Jillian Slyfield’s appointment to the company’s advisory board, which took place in September 2020.
