Patrick Industries released the company’s inaugural Responsibility and Sustainability Report.

The supplier’s report includes environmental, social and governance (ESG) measuring and data reporting. Data supports the company’s three strategic pillars: empowering people, caring for our planet and communities and living by our values.

“This inaugural Responsibility and Sustainability Report represents a significant step in our continued journey toward thinking more holistically about our business,” company CEO Andy Nemeth said. “Our approach is grounded in our BETTER Together values and is designed to influence engagement toward a more sustainable future for the company, its people and our stakeholders.”

BETTER is an acronym for Balance, Excellence, Teamwork, Trust, Empowerment and Respect. Patrick Industries in 2022 focused on establishing practices to drive accountability and performance in operations.

“This year, Patrick strengthened a newly established committee of cross-disciplinary team members, inclusive of a member of the executive leadership team, dedicated to building a framework to understand who we are as an organization and corporate citizen and how we can better our impact on communities,” the report said.

The company adopted a sustainability mission statement in the process: “We are stewards, dedicated to our pursuit of responsible and sustainable practices, anchored in our Better Together culture, to positively impact our communities.”

Nemeth said the report would serve as a baseline as the company hones its sustainable practices.

Report highlights include:

  • Details about Patrick’s material and energy use and management, including recycling, reclamation and re-use;
  • Data concerning Patrick’s IMPACT program, which gives recent college graduates an opportunity to rotate through key departments within the company as they align their strengths and interests with the needs of the business;
  • The company’s commitment to safety through programs including job safety analysis, OSHA preparedness, Train-the-Trainer programs and ergonomic assessments;
  • Details about the company’s community commitment, including partnerships with and sponsorships of programs such as Military Makeover with Montel, Care Camps and LOGAN; and
  • Patrick’s potential future initiatives roadmap, outlining the company’s vision to increase ESG initiative awareness and support.

“As a key supplier to the leisure lifestyle and housing markets, we believe serving these industries requires a responsible and balanced approach that prioritizes accuracy and transparency while working towards and establishing best practices,” Nemeth said. “We are committed to developing systems that increase our influence on sustainability; responsibly and collaboratively building practices that make our communities better.”
