The Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA) reported an influx of travelers asking whether RV parks and campgrounds have availability for upcoming summer holidays and weekends.
The association recommended RVers consider mid-week trips as weekend bookings fill up.
“With campgrounds being busier than ever, the answer may be booking a stay between Sunday and Thursday, days which traditionally have more campsite availability,” PCOA Executive Director Jason Vaughan said. “With internet access, you could take the family camping, and still get to attend that virtual meeting, in between discovering your outdoor moments. Campfires, smores, fishing and hiking are a few of the ways that you can spend your time mid-week this summer.”
A PCOA website feature will offer campers information on available reservations for upcoming weekends. The “Pick A Site” feature promotes 232 member campgrounds for those seeking a last-minute site.
PCOA noted Pennsylvania campgrounds and RV parks have guidelines in place to ensure guest safety while engaging in outdoor activities.
