Biography
Though Robert Martin became Thor Industries’ director in 2013, he has been with the company since 2001 when they acquired Keystone RV, and with it, Martin.
After graduating from Purdue University in 1993, Martin moved back to Elkhart, Indiana, and worked as a sales trainee at Coachmen Industries, Inc., now owned by Forest River, Inc.. Martin started as a salesman at then-startup Keystone RV in 1998 and held various positions both before and after Thor’s acquisition, including Vice President of Sales, General Manager of Sales, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Martin bought his first motorhome, a 1986 Travel Craft, in the early 2000s while working at Keystone RV.
In 2010, Martin became Keystone RV President, which led to his position of Thor’s RV Group President. He also became Thor Chief Operating Officer in 2012, later graduating to Chief Executive Officer in 2013. Today, Martin owns two Type C and four Type A motorhomes.
