The Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association (PRVCA) announced its new board of directors and presented awards during its virtual annual meeting Nov. 17.

TruMark Dealer Services’ Tim Umstead will serve as chairman of the PRVCA board. He previously served as chairman, vice chairman, secretary, finance director, legislative committee chairman and show committee member.

Family Camping Outlet’s Bill D’Andrea will be vice chairman. He previously served as a rolling stock director.

Three rolling stock directors were re-elected by association members. They include Nick Boyer from Boyer’s RV, Stephanie Reeder from Lerch RV and Brad Rhone from Rhone’s RV. In addition, the association re-elected its senior manufacturer director, Tiffin Motorhomes’ Nick Palm, and campground director, Beverly Gruber of the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association.

The election was held by mail-in ballot and the results were independently tabulated by CPA’s Scott J. Christ.

Awards presented included Volunteer of the Year, the Education Award and the Chairman’s Award.

PRVCA Executive Director Heather Leach presented JR Products’ John Roba with the 2020 Rebecca Lenington Volunteer of the Year Award. RV industry peers nominate volunteers for the award, which is named after retired PRVCA Executive Vice President Rebecca Lenington.

“John has been involved with PRVCA for over 30 years, whether it was serving on the board or a committee,” Leach stated. “When I stepped into the role of executive director, John spearheaded the strategic planning initiative and he has been an avid supporter of our education program. He is instrumental in making the association better for our members and for all those reasons we are pleased to present him with the Rebecca Lenington Volunteer of the Year Award.”

“I am truly honored and humbled,” Roba stated. “Everyone knows the how much association has meant to me over the years. It’s been such a joy to be involved. Such a great group of people to be involved with. It’s been a highlight of my career. It really has been.”

The Education Award was renamed the Gary Bunzer Education Award, after industry consultant, speaker and trainer Gary Bunzer, who died from COVID-19 complications in April.

Susquehanna Valley RV’s Jon Jones accepted the award on behalf of his company, which attended the most PRVCA education trainings.

Starr’s Trailer Sales’ Greg Starr completed his two-year term as chairman and was presented with an award for his service.

“I want to thank Greg for his leadership over the past two years and especially this last year which was a little challenging,” Leach stated. “We really appreciate his guidance and support.”
