Renogy will supply its flexible solar awning fabric to Lippert in an exclusive partnership. The flexible solar is used in Lippert’s Solera OG (Off-Grid) awnings.
The solar awnings combine flexibility and rollability with solar energy’s power, providing awning, sunshade and canopy manufacturers with clean energy solutions.
Solera OG awnings are powered by awning integrated photovoltaic (AIPV) solar technology, eliminating labor, expense, additional weight and roof intrusion from installing rigid panels.
“This new technology revolutionizes the solar industry by providing manufacturers with a flexible, rollable and lightweight solar fabric that opens up unlimited possibilities for off-grid applications,” Renogy founder and CEO Yi Li said. “We look forward to enabling even more manufacturers in the RV and marine industries to bring clean energy solutions to their customers quickly, enhancing their outdoor experiences and reducing their carbon footprint.”
Key Solera OG awnings features include:
- Flexibility and rollability: Renogy’s solar fabric is integrated into the awnings, enabling them to be rolled up into a 3-inch diameter roll. The rolls enable easy storage and transportation.
- Compatibility and lightweight design: The Solera OG awnings are compatible with existing RV awning hardware, making integrations seamless. Additionally, the fabric’s lightweight nature ensures minimal overall weight impact, maintaining awnings’ structural integrity.
- Enhanced solar production: In the retracted, travel or stored positions, Solera OG awnings retain over 60% of their photovoltaic production.
Renogy’s flexible solar fabric offers a new solar solution in limited roof space. The flexible solar fabric can reduce B2B manufacturers’ labor costs. Renogy said manufacturers can realize efficiency gains and cost savings by using the solar fabric.
