Although Rev Group reported financial results lower than the same period a year ago, President and CEO Mark Skonieczny said motorized sales have been strong.

The CEO said Rev Group motorhome sales are outpacing the industry and gained market share year-to-date through Oct. 31.

Skonieczny said Type C motorhome sales posted record quarterly net sales in Rev Group’s fiscal fourth quarter. Type C sales are up 6% from the first 10 months of 2022 while the entire Type C market is down 3%.

Type A motorhome sales are down 1% in the first 10 months of 2023 versus the same period in 2022, while Skonieczny said the industry is down 12%. Finally, Rev Group’s Type B sales are up 4% in the first 10 months of 2023 from the same period in 2022, as Skonieczny said the industry is down 12%.

“Within the quarter, our most profitable categories of Class B and Class C orders remained at a normalized level,” Skonieczny said, “and in line with pre-Covid levels. Backlog for these businesses remained at approximately six months to eight months of production.”

Skonieczny said the largest headwind in the Recreation segment was towable sales. Rev Group has about one month of towable sales backlog.

Heading into next year, Skonieczny said revenues likely will be down slightly as the manufacturer sells more RVs with lower content and new entry-level RVs. However, he said the picture will become clearer after the Tampa SuperShow, the largest Rev Group show in the U.S.

“We will be able to see what the consumer and dealer appetite is coming out of Q1 here,” Skonieczny said. “I think we will have a better view exiting Q1 than we currently do in the market right now.”
