Roadtrippers is adding an RV GPS feature to the platform’s road-trip planning services. The addition puts Roadtrippers in competition with RV GPS suppliers such as Garmin and Kenwood.
Roadtrippers, part of Roadpass Digital’s digital app portfolio, said standalone RV GPS devices can be expensive and inconvenient to keep up to date.
By contrast, Roadtrippers said its RV GPS feature provides RVers with navigation tailored for their RV and updated from their phone through the Roadtrippers app.
“RVers have unique needs when it comes to navigation, and we are excited to offer a solution that makes it seamless for them to plan and enjoy epic road trips,” said Tim Balzer, vice president of product for Roadtrippers. “Our new RV GPS feature is designed to make RV travel safer and more convenient, so the RV community can enjoy the open road.”
Early access to the feature is included with Roadtrippers Plus, the app’s premium membership.
“We want our users to be able to focus on enjoying their RV adventures, and skip the scary stuff,” Balzer said. “With the first release of this new feature, RVers can enjoy all of the famously fun Roadtrippers features like Extraordinary Places, while also having peace of mind out on the road.”
