The Pennsylvania Office of Outdoor Recreation joined the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR), joining 12 other state outdoor recreation offices as ORR members.
Pennsylvania recently unveiled its Report and Roadmap for the Future, a strategic action plan to expand its outdoor recreation economy.
ORR Vice President of Programs Chris Perkins said he was excited about the new partnership.
“Pennsylvania’s proactive approach, exemplified by its recent Report and Roadmap for the Future, positions the state as a national leader in leveraging outdoor recreation for economic growth and community well-being,” Perkins said. “This aligns with ORR’s mission to support and expand the outdoor recreation industry nationwide.”
The Pennsylvania Office of Outdoor Recreation was established by Gov. Josh Shapiro in 2023. Pennsylvania is the largest state that has created a dedicated outdoor recreation office.
Nathan Reigner, director of the Pennsylvania Office of Outdoor Recreation, said, “Joining the Roundtable will help us better connect the dots of conservation, economic development, entrepreneurial opportunity and sustainable policy. We thank ORR for both their unwavering support and welcoming us into the community of outdoor leaders.”
