RV Dealers Sour on Current Conditions

A picture of the June 2022 Baird RV Dealer Sentiment Index

RV dealers appear to be negative on current industry conditions and slightly negative on the next three to five years, according to the June Baird RV Dealer Sentiment Index.

The index, published jointly with RVDA, is an outgrowth of Baird’s monthly retail dealer survey conducted for RVDA members. The research details current and future industry conditions by month, with scores of over 50 indicating positive outlooks.

RV dealers scored current conditions at 26 out of 100 in June. The score is down 54% from April, when dealers rated current conditions at 57. The current condition score is at the lowest level since 2009.

The three- to five-year outlook was just shy of positive in June. Dealers rated conditions over the next three to five years at 47, up eight points from the April score of 39. The 47 rating, signaling a negative outlook, is only the second time the three- to five-year outlook has been below 50 since the survey’s initial 2006 research.

RVDA is dedicated to advancing RV dealers’ interests through education, member services, industry leadership, and market expansion programs that promote the increased sale and use of RVs and enhance the positive image of the RV experience, RVDA said.

RVDA is based in Fairfax, VA. Access more information on RVDA.
