The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following recalls:

CUMMINS, INC.

Electrical System Manufactured Improperly

Molded Case Circuit Breakers may have been incorrectly manufactured, resulting in inadequate circuit protection and an increased fire risk.

Potential number of units affected: 847

Cummins is recalling certain 2019-2021 Power Generation C70D2RE and C100D2RE trailer-mounted generator sets because of improper manufacturing. Cummins will inspect and replace the circuit breakers, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 14, 2022. Owners may contact Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467. Cummins’s number for this recall is 21051.

FOREST RIVER, INC.

Exterior Lighting Fails to Comply with Federal Regulations

The center rear identification light is installed higher than regulated.

Potential number of units affected: 957

Forest River is recalling certain 2021-2022 Impression fifth wheel RVs due to the center, rear identification light installation at a point higher than other lights. This fails to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, “lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment.” The remedy for this recall is still under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 29. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service Phone Number 1-574-296-2084. Forest River’s number for this recall is 83-1441.

JAYCO, INC.

Unsecured Child Restraints Can Increase Injury Risks During a Crash

The seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early and not secure the child properly.

Potential number of units affected: 45

Jayco is recalling certain 2021-2022 Jayco Swift and Entegra Ethos motorhomes because of a malfunctioning seat belt system that can prevent the child restraint system from properly securing the passenger. Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt retractors as needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 12. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267.

 

Water Heater Exhaust Fumes May Enter Slide Out

The water heater was installed in the wrong location, resulting in exhaust fumes entering the slide out area.

Potential number of units affected: 127

Jayco is recalling certain 2021 Jay Flight Octane travel trailers. The water heater was installed in the incorrect location and could result in exhaust fumes entering the trailer’s slide-out area. Dealers will relocate the water heater, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 13, 2022. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267.
