DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA, LLC

Loss of Steering Control from Tie Rod Failure

Tie rod failure can cause vehicle steering control loss and increase the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 3,421

DTNA is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Cascadia and Western Star 47X vehicles. The tie rod in the front axle may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break and result in tie rod failure.

Dealers will replace the tie rod assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 29. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 800-745-8000. DTNA’s number for this recall is F1007.

FOREST RIVER, INC.

Incorrect Seating Capacity on Label/FMVSS 120

Incorrect seating capacity information may lead to overloading the vehicle, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 20

Forest River is recalling certain 2025 Freelander motorhomes. The federal placard indicates 30 seat-belted positions in the rear when the correct number of belted positions is three. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 120, “Wheels and Rims – Other than Passenger Cars” and 49 CFR Part 567, “Certification.”

Forest River will mail owners new federal placards, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Aug. 8. Owners may contact customer service at 574-825-8602. Forest River’s number for this recall is 210-1824.

JAYCO, INC.

Battery Cables May Overheat and Cause Fire

An electrical short or overheating of the battery cables increases the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 125

Jayco is recalling certain 2024-2025 Entegra Anthem, Aspire, Cornerstone, Reatta and Reatta XL motorhomes. The battery cables may not be the correct size, in the correct location or they may be improperly tightened, which can cause an electrical short or allow the cables to overheat.

Dealers will inspect the battery cables, and repair or replace them as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 30. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9903611.

TAXA LLC

Freshwater Tank Can Detach

A detached tank can fall, becoming a road hazard and increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 863

Taxa is recalling certain 2021-2024 Mantis trailers. The gaskets and brackets could fail to stabilize the freshwater tank, allowing the tank to move and detach from the trailer.

Dealers will replace the gaskets and brackets, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Sept. 20. Owners may contact TAXA customer service at 713-861-2540.
