RV Retailer, LLC (RVR) agreed to acquire Sherrod’s RV Center’s two Beaumont, Texas, dealerships. RVR also celebrated the grand opening of its sales and service facility in Tyler, Texas.
With the additions, RVR will operate 16 dealerships across the state.
“We are committed to investing in Texas to support our rapid growth and the growth in the RV industry,” RVR President and CEO Jon Ferrando said. “We look forward to entering the Beaumont market in Southeast Texas with the acquisition of two stores.”
Sherrod’s RV Centers locations are in southeast Texas in the greater Beaumont metroplex. The Silsbee location is off Highway 327 and the Vidor location is located on I-10.
“We are excited to enter Beaumont with strong product brands including Grand Design, Jayco and Keystone,” ExploreUSA President Larry Hall said. “Expansion into the southeast Texas region furthers our ability to serve Texans across the No. 1 RV state in the U.S. Our re-branding of the stores to ExploreUSA Supercenter of Beaumont will leverage our strong ExploreUSA brand across Texas.”
The Tyler ExploreUSA location opens two years after the dealership opened its doors. Groundbreaking on the larger site began in September 2020 after ExploreUSA sold 673 RVs in its first 12 months, far exceeding expectations, RVR said at the time.
“In Tyler, we are excited to open a world-class facility in a great location on I-69 just south of I-20,” Ferrando said. “The new dealership has a nice sales showroom, a large covered service drive and over 20 service bays. This has been a strong market since we opened in 2019 and this incredible new sales and service facility will allow us to provide superior service to our east Texas customers.”
The new facility was expected to be a $5 million project that would more than double the staffing from Tyler’s original group of 18 employees. The original dealership had five service bays while the new site features 23.
